Kowari^TM 1.0.2 introduces a new "lite" version. This is available as a binary download below. Kowari Lite^TM is not a complete Kowari distribution - it only includes core components - nor is it a binary distribution in the conventional sense. Kowari Lite is available in binary format only and is aimed at developers wanting a smaller footprint datastore without additional functionality. More information on Kowari distributions is available in the FAQ.

Jena's Graph and Model level interface to Kowari has been implemented. SF feature 877348.
RDQL support has been implemented. SF feature 891389.
Kowari Lite. SF feature 896249.
JRDF Graph interface to Kowari has been implemented. SF feature 898594.
Implement Disk Based Queries. SF feature 913914.
Modified namespace from Kowari to Tucana. SF feature 916305.
Upgrade SOAP support using AXIS. SF feature 916307.
Improved FileTuples sorting. SF feature 917843.

The outstanding bugs in this release are as follows:

Under Mac OS^® X you should kill the Kowari process rather than pressing Ctrl-C as this causes the operating system to become unstable. This may be related to mapped I/O problems. Again, this does not lead to corruption of the database. SF bug 898486. This has been significantly improved but still occasionally fails.
Subqueries are currently inefficient when compared with doing non-nested queries. SF bug 914556.
iTQL^TM queries of a certain form are currently unsupported by the query layer. SF bug 919218.
RDFLoadUnitTest is known to fail on some systems running a Windows^® operating system. SF bug 930777.
Jena API exposes Kowari anonymous resources (blank nodes). This mainly effects inferencing under Jena. SF bug 933932.
AbstractDatabaseSession fails to remove session directory. SF bug 936092.
