System Requirements

The server and the iTQL^TM Shell both require J2SE^TM 1.4 to be installed on your system (either the SDK or the JRE). If you do not have a copy of this, you can download a copy for your platform from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/, and install it. Installation instructions for systems running a Windows^® or a Linux^® operating system are available. You should then check that the installation added the Java^TM commands to your path by typing:

$ java -version

You should get the following:

java version "1.4.2"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0-b28)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2-b28, mixed mode)

If your shell (console) reports that it cannot find the command, add <JAVA_HOME>/bin (where JAVA_HOME is the location where you installed J2SE to) to your path in the appropriate way for your shell.
