What are Descriptors?

Descriptors are XSL stylesheets that perform specific, well-defined tasks in KowariTM. They are composed of the following components:

  • Extensions to XSL:
    • <query> tags enabling you to issue iTQLTM commands to Kowari databases from within XSL stylesheets
    • <descriptor> tags enabling one Descriptor to call another
  • JavaTM Objects that invoke Descriptors and return their results
  • Java Servlets that invoke Descriptors using HTTP
  • SOAP endpoints that enable all Descriptors to be accessible as SOAP services

The Descriptor Management page is available at http://localhost:8080/webservices/descriptor/index.jsp when Kowari is running.
